Ed Tinsley's thoughts on Home |
|
For fifty years the Flying W Diamond Ranch has been part of our family. Meredith and I have worked hard over the years building and running our business, often times in many parts of our state and country. It is not easy making a small business work, but this is small in comparison to making a ranch work financially. Our quest to keep this important part of our heritage and culture in our family for generations to come has required a lot of effort, sacrifice, and balance of time. |

Pastor, Capitan United Methodist Church, NM
"Despite Ed and Meredith's busy travel schedules, I know that they make Sunday morning attendance a priority at the Capitan United Methodist Church when they are home. It's a joy to have the Tinsleys as a part of our congregation, and we are grateful for their attendance and contributions to the needs of our church family." |
Resident of Ruidoso, New Mexico
"I've known the Tinsley family since the 1960’s (Ed's sister's husband was my high school math teacher at Capitan High School) and I can tell you that they are good people. Through his restaurant and ranching operations, Ed's been an active participant in the community development of Lincoln County. If elected, I believe Ed would work hard for Lincoln County and New Mexico." |
Owners, El Paisano Restaurant in Capitan, New Mexico
"I first met Ed when he was a little boy, sitting at the table near the window, eating chile rellenos with his father and the entire family. Ed's still around – all the time – eating our rellenos or the chili cheeseburger. He inherited the same great disposition as his father and is a fantastic listener. We just love the Tinsley family. Our daughter worked on the ranch and got married on their ranch. There are a lot of great memories over the past 50 years." |
President, State National Bank, Ruidoso, NM
"I know Ed well, as he has been one of our best banking customers over the years. I appreciate and respect his business sense and integrity." |
Executive Vice President, State National Bank, Ruidoso, NM
"I am Ed's loan and banking officer at State National Bank. He has been a great customer with our bank for many years, even before I came on board. I have worked with Ed on numerous projects, met with him on a regular bases in the bank and handled most of the communication with him. Ed's a standup guy whose word is golden." |
State Farm Agency, Ruidoso, NM
"We have handled Ed and Meredith's insurance for a number of years: insuring their operating ranch, all of their automobiles, properties in Ruidoso and their home on their ranch. I can tell you that they take a lot of pride in how they run their ranch and their home. They have been very good clients and are conscientious people, who we love to work with." |
Partner in Lincoln Hills Development, Alto, NM
"Having known Ed for almost 40 years, I can't imagine a more capable congressional representative for the second district. He is a man of unquestioned integrity, with roots that are firmly grounded in Lincoln County. Ed will be able to find his way around the halls of Congress, if we are indeed so fortunate." |
Friend and Neighbor to Flying W Diamond Ranch in Capitan, New Mexico
“The Tinsleys have been honest and reliable friends for 17 years now. I really couldn’t ask for better neighbors. They’ve constantly made themselves available and have provided me with assistance and counsel in the maintenance of my property and other land issues.” |
Sales Manager, Sierra Blanca Motors of Ruidoso, New Mexico
"I've been doing business with Ed and selling him vehicles here in Ruidoso for 20 years now. Based on our business dealings, I can tell you that Ed is extremely professional, frugal, and true to his word. When Ed says he is committed to do something, he does it and I've never been given reason to question that. I appreciate these qualities and believe they would translate well in Washington.” |
Shawn Wilson Excavating
"Since 2000, I've been doing excavating work at the Tinsley's Flying W Diamond Ranch. Ed's definitely a good business man, no doubt about that. He is straightforward and honest, and knows what he wants to a 'T'. He and I have spent many hours in the pasture pushing brush, building fences and grading the road up to his home. I'm happy to have had his business for the past 8 years and highly admire his integrity and outgoing personality." |
Neighbor, Capitan, New Mexico
“Several years ago, during a particularly dry period, Ed shared his family’s water storage tank with me so that I could tend to the 35 cows on my property sufficiently and for as long as needed. I can remember meeting him at the water tank, and him insisting on sharing the water without accepting payment. Now that’s what I call a good neighbor.” |
President, All American Plumbing
"I have come to know Ed and Meredith as I take care of most, if not all, of the plumbing issues at their home and out buildings on their ranch. They are great to work with, and have a great sense of pride for their home. At times, I get to help do a little "cowboying" for their ranch manager, which is a bonus, as the vistas are unbelievably beautiful out there." |
Ranch Manager, Flying W Diamond Ranch
"As Ed's ranch manager, I've gotten to know a man who cares deeply about his family, his ranch and the people who work for him. He's a 'hands on' type of guy at the ranch and absolutely loves being horseback. Whether it's about our cattle, horses, hunting operations, fences or waterings – he gets a real charge out of being part of all of it and I know that he regrets not getting to spend more time doing these things. Ed balances a lot of business interests, and I often times come home at night to see the lights on late at the ranch office with him catching up on things. He and Meredith have a couple of dogs, Klickitat and Riggs, who often times wander down to our house to visit. Our dog Bayi, likes the company. And Meredith, well, she is a real task master when it comes to her yard -- I can attest to that each summer." |
