FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Christopher Maloney (575) 993-1182
Ruidoso, NM: Today, former Las Cruces Mayor William Mattiace formally announced his endorsement of Ed Tinsley in New Mexico's Second Congressional District Republican Primary.
"I've been a supporter of the rancher and small-businessman Ed Tinsley for awhile, but it was his extensive knowledge of the issues affecting the citizens of Las Cruces and Dona Ana County which won over my strong endorsement in this primary.
"Ed is small business owner like myself, and with that he understands that bringing economic growth to Dona Ana County begins with decreasing the federal tax burden on the backs of individuals and businesses. Ed will fight for increased funding in Washington, which will go toward the recruitment, training and retention of members of the US Border Patrol to help control our borders; and he'll work to maintain the beauty of the Organ Mountains, which are a national treasure.
"I am happy to stand in support of a man who will work hard for the citizens of Dona Ana County, and will represent New Mexico with integrity in Congress."
Former Mayor William "Bill" Mattiace has lived in Las Cruces since 1968. William Mattiace was first elected to the Las Cruces City Council in 1999. In 2003 Mattiace was elected Mayor and served in the post until 2007. |
