Ruidoso, NM: As millions of taxpayers across New Mexico line up at their local post offices to file their federal income tax returns, New Mexico's Second District Republican Congressional Candidate Ed Tinsley, marked April 15th with concern of the Democrats' tax plan. Tinsley stressed that, when elected, he will stand for new tax relief for the middle class, especially now as working families confront a slowing economy and housing crunch.
"Only two things may be certain in life, but Congress can and should stop the approaching Democrat tax hike, the largest in American history. Without decisive action, a massive job-killing and anit-economic growth tax hike is looming that will take thousands of dollars out of each working family's annual salary.
The Democrat plan would also: -Resurrect the Death Tax -Reinstitute the marriage penalty -Cut the child tax credit in half -Reduce tax incentives for small businesses
"Nancy Pelosi and liberal House Democrats' fiscally irresponsible budget will impose the largest tax hike in history on the backs of New Mexico workers and businesses. Under the Democrat budget, the average New Mexico taxpayer will receive a tax hike of $2,345 annually.
"Tax relief empowers New Mexicans to do what they do best - strengthen our workforce and keep our economy competitive," said Ed Tinsley. "Now more than ever, it's critical that taxpayers keep more of their hard earned dollars to provide for their families and make ends meet, as the cost of living and inflation continues to increase."

On New Mexican Issues
For the health of the American economy, we must reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources. Our country is in dire need of a greater domestic supply – and New Mexico is uniquely positioned to contribute and be part of the solution. Having worked in the Permian Basin oil and gas industry for decades, I am a proponent of less regulation, taxation, and legislation on our domestic energy producers.
